Here at Azura, we are known for our skin resurfacing technology, also known as Fraxel. So first thing’s first. What is skin resurfacing? According to plasticsurgery.org, skin resurfacing is “treatment to improve the texture, clarity and overall appearance of your skin.” So basically, the ideal candidate for this treatment would have damaged skin. Damaged skin could range anywhere from acne scars to sun damaged skin or even age spots and/or large pores.
So, how does this technology work? Well, it only treats a fraction of tissue which promotes rapid healing. This stimulates your body’s own natural healing process, replacing old and damaged cells with fresh, glowing healthy skin.
Treatment areas: Ideally, our clients have treatments on the face, neck and chest. We can “spot treat” (meaning not an entire area but rather a specific area) scars and stretch marks. Each treatment is customized to meet the satisfaction of each client individually.
What to expect during the treatment: We ask that you arrive an hour prior to your appointment so that our medical professional can apply a numbing agent. Everyone’s tolerance threshold varies from person to person but numbing the treatment area does in fact promote a more comfortable treatment. Many describe the sensation as heat being distributed over the area; much like a slight sun burn. The treatment time should last an hour or less.
What to expect after the treatment: This treatment usually requires some “down time” meaning you do not want to plan this treatment the day before a big event. Side effects include mild redness, swelling and the sensation of being slightly sunburnt. Cleansing the area several times a day followed by moisturizing and applying SPF are highly recommended. After a few days, you will notice a difference in your skin. It will look younger and fresher; a “glow” you haven’t seen in a long time. Wrinkles will be reduced and scars will have an improved appearance. The tone and texture of your skin will have enhanced as well.
Who qualifies for this laser treatment? Light to medium skin tones are the safest skin tones to treat and have an effective outcome.
Is one treatment enough? Well, that depends on you, your skin, and the expectations you are looking to obtain. Every case is different but a complimentary consultation with our medical professional will provide a further explicit recommendation partial to specifically YOU.
Restore your youthfulness. You are only a phone call away from looking and feeling a more refined looking you.
