Azura Medical Spa is excited to introduce to the Charlotte and Gastonia area the Nd:YAG Scanner for Photo-Collagen Remodeling. The concept of collagen remodeling is simple. Collagen bands are the support structure of the skin. Aging, sun damage, smoking, and diet all contribute to the relaxing of these bands, similar to old elastic, resulting in skin sagging and wrinkles. The Nd:YAG has been shown to be very effective in the treatment of this problem and the softening of acne scarring. The laser delivers heat to the collagen bands creating shrinkage and tightening of these bands. Over the next 6-8 weeks, fibroblasts deposit new collagen over these bands for plumping of the skin.

This is a treatment similar to body toning. A person can't work out at a gym once and expect to have well toned muscles and the laser facial procedure works similarly and may require several treatments.
