Dr. Steve Weston

Medical Director

Dr. Steven Weston received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign. After graduation, Dr. Weston traveled to Springfield, Illinois to attend medical school at Southern Illinois University and then to Marshall University, in Huntington, WV for his general surgery residency. Dr. Weston is board certified and placed in the 98th percentile on his recertification examination.

Dr. Weston's career in medicine started in high school when he worked at a pharmacy delivering patients aids, oxygen tanks, and prescription drugs. He received his introduction to trauma and surgery by working at local hospitals as an emergency medical technician - ambulance while in college. Dr. Weston trained at Cabell Huntington Hospital and a large VA Medical Center during his surgery residency. He has spent the past 17 years of his career in the Charlotte, NC area with his wife Lisa and six children.

Dr. Weston has enjoyed extensive experience with pediatric patients, having trained with the only pediatric surgeon in WV. His program developed the only burn unit in the Tri - State area, so, experience with burns, skin grafting and skin care were extensive. Dr. Weston has performed thousands of endoscopic, laparoscopic and vascular procedures in private practice. He has over 20 years experience using YAG and KTP lasers and more recently, nitrogen plasma energy for skin regeneration. He now staffs an advanced wound care center in Charlotte, NC equipped with hyperbaric oxygen chambers and the latest skin substitutes.

Dr. James Nelson Antezana

Surgeon

Dr. James Nelson Antezana is a Board Certified General Surgeon and Board Eligible Vascular Surgeon. He was born in Panama City, Panama to a United States Citizen father and a Bolivia mother. He is married to a physician and together they are the parents of four beautiful children. He speaks several languages including Spanish and Portuguese. He graduated from medical school, from Bolivia's prestigious "Facultad de Medicina Aurelio Melean," of the Universidad Mayor de San Simon in Cochabamba. He was the youngest professor of Medical Physiology appointed at the age of 27, in the history of this academic institution. He also conducted research in Tropical Diseases, specializing in the detection and management of patients with Leishmaniasis. He then moved on to Europe and North America to finally settle in the United States to pursue his dream of becoming a Surgeon. He did a straight General Surgical Internship at Saint Mary's Hospital a Yale University affiliate program and later completed his General Surgery training, becoming the Chief General Surgery Resident at Mercy Catholic Medical Centers, Philadelphia, PA., affiliated to the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University. After concluding his General Surgery training, he moved on to complement his training with a two year Accredited Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Missouri's hospitals and Clinics at Columbia, under the direct supervision Dr. W. Kirt Nichols, M.D., F.A.C.S. and his staff. Upon completion of his training he moved on to the Carolinas, attracted by the warmth of the people and area to provide his humble services. He is not just well versed in surgery, but also has experience in general and emergency medicine. He has great faith in God and sees himself as a simple servant at his service.

Lisa Weston

Business Manager / Weight Loss Counselor

Lisa handles the day-to-day business operations of Azura Medical Spa and Weston Med Surg. She is also President and Interior Designer for Carolina Design Team. Inc. She attended the University of North Carolina and New York School of Interior Design. Lisa also designed and built their home on Lake Wylie where she and Dr. Weston have raised 6 children.

Heather Jackson

Physicians Assistant

Heather Jackson, PA-C, is a physician assistant working at Weston MedSurg and Azura Medical Spa. She earned a bachelor of science degree in Human Nutrition, Food, and Exercise from Virginia Tech, and completed her master of physician assistant studies degree from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to working at Weston MedSurg, she worked as a physician assistant in gynecology/family planning.

Licensed Medical Aesthetician

A licensed, clinical skincare specialist with more than 20 years in the cosmetic industry. Cissy offers patients the safest and most effective skin care treatments, as well as an educational and Therapeutic experience.

Summer Trull

Licensed Medical Aesthetician

Hi, my name is Summer Trull and I am a licensed esthetician at Azura Med Spa and a freelance production makeup artist. I specialize in film, reality, and print work. I graduated in August 2008 from the Makeup Artist Academy located in Dallas, Texas where I learned to do special effects and production makeup. I recently finished working on a film called 'The Trial' directed by Gary Wheeler. It stars Matthew Modine and Robert Forster. The film should be out in October of 2010.

Patricia Hamel

Laser Specialist

A native of New England, Patricia graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Liberal Arts and later obtained an Associate’s Degree in Nursing at New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, NH.

She worked at St. Joseph`s Trauma Center in Nashua, NH for eight years as a surgical nurse.

Patricia left Nursing to establish her own business of Electrolysis Associates. She held licenses to perform electrolysis in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts. For fifteen years she managed this successful hair removal business in Nashua, NH.

In 1997, after a move to Phoenix, AZ, she apprenticed for two years in the field of Lasers. At the Institute of Cosmetic Dermatology in Scottsdale, she trained on some of the first lasers that met FDA approval for Hair Removal.

In Charlotte since 2001, she has received certificates in most wavelengths and applications of Lasers. She also holds a Diploma from the Laser Institute of Naples, Florida.

Patricia says, “I love working with people and doing the best treatments possible”. Her hobbies include cooking, gardening, golf, and travel.

Kellie Dawson, CMA

Clinical Manager

I have worked with Dr. Weston for over 16 years. I am a mother of two children: Morgan (14) and Jack (7).

I have a strong passion for medicine and patient care. Each client I meet is like an extention of my family.

Debi Kless

Front Desk Supervisor

I'm married and we have two Great Pyrenees (dogs). We are avid dog lovers.
